Antonio A. Rucci

With more than 27 years of counterintelligence and security experience, Tony Rucci has worked at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) since 2004, when he was hired to spearhead the design and accreditation of the Multiprogram Research Facility. After accreditation, Mr. Rucci served as the Director of Intelligence Operations, and in 2007, assumed responsibilities as the Collection Manager and Cyber Initiatives. In 2010, he returned to his community of interest and became an IC Programs Developer for the Global Security Directorate.

Before joining ORNL, Mr. Rucci served 21 years as a U.S. Army Counterintelligence Warrant Officer / Special Agent, conducting security and technical espionage investigations to protect national interests, culminating with his assignment as the Counterintelligence Operations Officer for the Director of Security, White House Military Office (WHMO).  Mr. Rucci was the lead counterintelligence officer for over 70 Presidential visits to foreign countries, where he ensured the WHMO mission was successfully performed, provided force protection measures to ensure the security of military forces, and provided critical intelligence affecting the President to the Military Aide to the President and the U.S. Secret Service by fusing disparate information from national intelligence agencies, host country law enforcement agencies, and State Department personnel into a coherent, succinct threat picture. These assessments were then used to develop and successfully implement security countermeasures.

Tony speaks regularly at government and industry events on such topics as Critical Infrastructure Protection, SpearPhishing, Social Networking and Insider Threats. Mr. Rucci and his wife Pam are “Proud Empty Nesters” of one son and reside in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Lawrence Dietz has over 30 years of diversified military and commercial information security experience. Recent projects include work for the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Prevention in Atlanta, GA and assignments in support of the US DoD Joint Chiefs of Staff and the US Special Operations Command.  Previously at Symantec Corporation for 6 years, Dietz formerly served as Senior Director of Government Solutions. Other roles at Symantec included Corporate Strategist, Director of Enterprise Marketing for North America, and Director of Market Intelligence, Analyst and Government Relations. A well respected analyst, he held key analyst roles with Zona Research and Giga Information Group.   Mr. Dietz has been an analyst of the market for information security products and services since 1978.   He has published a wide array of articles and reports and is a sought after speaker. 

A licensed attorney in California and a recognized authority in compliance, Dietz has lectured internationally on critical legal issues related to Cyber warfare, the Internet and Electronic Commerce. He retired as a Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve, where assignments included a variety of Intelligence and PSYOP positions. He holds BS in BA from Northeastern University, MBA from Babson College, JD from Suffolk University, LLM in European Law from Leicester University, United Kingdom, and Masters in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College.


E. Eugene Schultz

Eugene Schultz, Ph.D., CISM, CISSP, GSLC is the Chief Technology Officer at Emagined Security, an information security consultancy based in San Carlos, California. He is the author/co-author of five books: UNIX security, Internet security, Windows NT/2000 security, incident response, and intrusion detection and prevention.

Dr. Schultz has written over 120 published papers. He was the Editor-in-Chief of Computers and Security from 2002-2007, is currently on the editorial board for this journal, and is an associate editor of Network Security. He is also a certified SANS instructor, senior SANS analyst, member of the SANS NewsBites editorial board, co-author of the 2005 and 2006 Certified Information Security Manager preparation materials, and is on the technical advisory board of three companies.

Dr. Schultz has previously managed an information security practice as well as a national incident response team. He has also been professor of computer science at several universities, retired from the University of California at Berkeley. He has received the NASA Technical Excellence Award, the Department of Energy Excellence Award, and the ISACA John Kuyers Best Speaker/Best Conference Contributor Award. He received the Vanguard Conference Top Gun Award (for best presenter) twice, the Vanguard Chairman's Award, and the National Information Systems Security Conference Best Paper Award.

Named a Distinguished Fellow of the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA), Dr. Schultz has also received the ISSA Hall of Fame award as well as the ISSA's Professional Achievement and Honor Roll Awards. While at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, he founded and managed the U.S. Department of Energy's Computer Incident Advisory Capability (CIAC). He is also a co-founder of FIRST, the Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams.

Jose Andre Morales is a Research Assistant Professor for the Institute of Cyber Security in the University of Texas at San Antonio.  His research area is computer virology with a current focus on the analysis and behavior-based detection of malware, anti-malware program evaluation, smartphone security, and transformation of biological defense mechanisms into computer systems.  He has been working with malware and computer viruses for over 10 years.  He is project lead of OMAS, an online malware analysis system at http://omas.ics.utsa.edu, and is a co-author of the book "Malicious Mobile Code".  He is a member of Sigma Xi, ACM and IEEE.


Mike Guthrie

Mike Guthrie has 10 years experience in cyber security.  He was the Network Security Architect at Bonneville Power Administration in the northwest.  At Mentor Graphics he spent time as a network engineer providing enterprise networking, firewall and VPN support for a global network comprising of 72 connected sites world wide.

Most recently Mr. Guthrie spent his time doing penetration tests on Industrial Control Systems.  His background is specifically related to control systems in the bulk power generation and transmission areas.  During this time he developed unique perspectives on the areas of compliance and regulation in the power industry.  Currently Mr. Guthrie works for Chickasaw Nation Industries as a part of the CNI red team.

Mr. Guthrie has spoken and taught at security conferences such as the Techno Forensics and Digital Investigations Conference, Black Hat and DEF CON.

Lynette Hornung-Kobes

Lynette Hornung-Kobes is currently a Senior Computer Security and Privacy Consultant with Northrop Grumman Information Systems Lynette has her CIPP (Certified Information Privacy Professional) and SABSA SCF and SCPA Certifications. She has a Master of Science in Information Assurance from Iowa State University, a NSA Center of Excellence, as well as her Master of Arts in Political Science from Iowa State University. She has provided project leadership to a variety of Department of Justice components, including the Office of the Solicitor General, Interpol and the Office of the Chief Information Officer with security and privacy services.  She also worked on a project with DOJ and OMB where she served in a liaison role between the two agencies on their joint project. She was an IT Security Specialist with the Department of Justice prior to joining Northrop Grumman where she worked on Certification and Accreditation on an enterprise level for the Public Key Infrastructure.

Lynette was a contributing author to books on Identity Theft by Dr. Steffen Schmidt and Michael McCoy, including Who is You? and The Silent Crime: What You Need to Know About Identity Theft.  She has been an invited speaker at various computer security conferences, including COSAC, NetSec, and the Computer Security Institute, where she has presented on topics dealing with security and privacy. She is a current member of the Privacy Smart Grid and the Enterprise Security Architecture Smart Grid.


Jason Kobes

Jason
Kobes works as a Senior Cyber Architect for Northrop Grumman, where he currently supports the Department of Justice Deputy CIO for Security.
Jason has been leading efforts to secure and test the security of many different DOJ systems and environments.  Jason also has assisted with the development of the conceptual security architecture for the NIST Smart Grid integration project, was the identity management and data architect for the FBI NDex conceptual design, and recently was the external technical security consultant for the OMB MAX portal project.  Jason is now supporting the redesign of the Federal Prison Industries Web Store as the project security architect.

Jason's areas of research are accountable anonymity systems and applying enterprise security architecture. Jason is advisor to the Northrop Grumman, Purdue University research project. He has recently spoken about security, enterprise security architecture and business process & architecture improvement methods at SABSA World Congress and the Computer Security Institute (CSI) annual conferences.  Jason is also an instructor for the Federated Enterprise Architecture Institute where he teaches Enterprise Security Architecture.


Rob Jackson

Robin Jackson was born and raised in Montana.  He entered the Army as a Russian linguist and went on to learn about and love computers in his work in the military intelligence community.

After leaving the Army, Jackson worked in the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) industry, eventually building a successful consulting company in that field.  After selling his company Jackson became an Internet pioneer, buying ownership of the first Web Hosting company in the State of Montana.

Jackson has received numerous awards for his classified and unclassified work and holds several computer certifications including CompTIA Security+, Wetstone's Certified Hacking Investigator and Certified Steganography Investigator and the Cyberterrorism Defense Analysis Center DHS Sentinel Incident Response and Handling certification.

Jackson was a member of the Williams Twins Forensics team which won the Department of Defense's 2010 DC3 Forensics Challenge and the EC-Council's International Civilian team award.

Jason has over 14 years of experience in Information Technology and has been involved in various consulting activities. In his career he has provided network engineering, expert witness testimony, project management, Public Safety IT support, Government IT support (Local, State and Federal), as well as various public and private industry IT and management support.

Jason is the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Division 130-10 (Division covers the State of Montana) Communications officer and is a qualified Coast Guard Instructor/Trainer.

 


Justin Jones

Justin became interested in information security when he took a self-instructed class in computer security and penetration testing while attending the University of Great Falls, where he graduated with honors in 2010.  Last winter Justin received his Network+ and Security+ certifications a mere five weeks from one another and continues to study feverishly for his C|EH and CISSP.  Justin actively participates in the Helena chapter of 2600.  When he finds time to step away from his computer, he can be found mountain biking, fly fishing, and whitewater rafting around Montana.
